By car

Take the A1 Hamburg in the direction of Lübeck, Neustadt in Holstein, Oldenburg in Holstein to Puttgarden. After crossing the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, take the first exit off the motorway in the direction of Avendorf/Landkirchen. At the stop sign turn right towards Avendorf. Immediately afterwards, turn left again in the direction of Burg auf Fehmarn (Blieschendorfer Allee). At the entrance to Burg follow the second exit of the roundabout and at the end of the street (you will see a church on the left) turn right into Süderstraße. After approx. 1km you will reach the port of Burgstaaken, there are enough parking spaces.

By train

The island of Fehmarn is on the direct train connection between Hamburg and Copenhagen, making it very easy to get to Fehmarn by train. There are train stations in Burg and Puttgarden. The exact connection from your home station can be found on the Deutsche Bahn website:www.bahn.de
